I have nothing against Gay people prsnly............. but I am adamantly opposed to Gay Marriages..... the people are great people, but marriage is between a man and a woman, it's how God designed it.

the debate with gay marriage really depends on the people because people believe in different kinds of beliefs like religion or their moral values etc... but I see what jsacton is trying to cross into.

Six down fourty-four to go. I didn't realize that 3 more states have legalized it in the past year or so. I think its a civil rights issue, and is completly unfair.

Well it is true 6 have passed it, but New Hampshire does not go into effect until January 1st of next year. Also Maine is going to have it on the ballet in November. I really hope we do not have another Proposition 8 in Maine. The other 4 states that have it are Iowa, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Vermont. Vermont just started it a few days ago.

Gay marriage should be legal. It's disgusting that a woman cannot visit her dying partner of 50 years in a hospital after visitation hours. America can be a cruel society in that way.
And as for the, "marriage is a sanction between a man and a woman," point of view. You can't hold something to be so traditional that fails half the time. It's not like we're asking for anything more, just equality.
And if we're going into religion, then that's simple. According to the Bible, Jesus did not hate sinners, he preached to them and was inviting to them. You wouldn't be a very good Christian if you didn't try to act as Jesus did, now would you?

i think gay marriage is perfectly fine....
the way "god" designed it means nothing, there's changes made to every design and all that matters is that these two people are in love....if they truly love each other why not let them be happy and married?
really i mean, how would you feel if it was you who was gay and wanting marriage and unable to get it because of people saying it's wrong according to "god"? not great, so why not try to put yourself in their viewpoint before deciding if it's right or wrong.....
yeah most of my guy friends a gay, so are a few girls i know, and if they wanna get married i think they should be allowed...just like any "straight" couple...
i say it "straight" because we are all bi to some extent, therefore there is gayness is every marriage... so basing it on that it would mean nobody should be allowed to get married

I really LIKE gay people and want to show them love and treat them well. I also think that they should have a TON more rights than they do currently, including hospital things, wills etc. I just don't think they should have the title of marriage.

Its great that this community is so accepting that we have 86% support of Gay Marriage.
I think that the definition of Marriage is meant to change, after all, most religious idea's have changed over time.

Sort of like children are to be stoned to death if they disobey their parents. And women are supposed to have sex with all of her fiancee's brothers before their wedding. That still happens. Right.
