In my english class this is the topic I drew to debate about, I really don't know what to say in this debate, I am pro gay marriage but I don't really have an argument for it exactly. I would like to hear peoples opinions on this subject, and maybe help me with my debate lol.

We did this in AP English earlier in the year.
I feel that homosexuality is something people do not choose to feel, so we should not limit their freedom of speech, to declare their love for another person.
I also feel that homosexual marriages have shown no signs of hurting out society or individuals, so it should be legalized. This counteracts arguments such as polyagist(spelt wrong) marriages, cause those situations have shown to have some negative emotion side effect on the wives and children involved.

i am pro gay marriage, i have several gay friends who all have told me they feel they are second class citizens

I honestly don't understand the argument against Gay Marriage though, it really is a shame to see people face prejudice based on sexual orientation, we claim to be a civilized society but I still feel we are far from it in certain areas of life

^^ I know what you mean. I understand how people can be upset by it, as it challenges the way peopel have acted for thousands of years.
But if we can end an institution such as slavery, why can't we have freedom of marriage?

i have a tonn of gay friends and they are so happy that way, like if it makes you happy go for it
tellin them they can't or shouldnt be gay is like tellin a straight person they cant be straight
it's all about happiness and if being gay is what makes them happy go for it

Hey, Iknow i'm new here but this is my opinion. Don't get me wrong i'm not against gays in any way shape or form i believe ppl should do whatever they want aslong as it DOESN'T HURT ANYBODY. but i personally have a problem with the entire marriage thorey gay or straight. i believe that two people shouldn't have to spend thousands of dollars on a big fancy wedding i don't see how that is a nesacerry thing to do to prove your love to someone male or female. having said that i'm going out with this chick and she wants to get married. ha ha lol, thats a valid point, however their are government benefits that come with marriage plus joint bank accounts and all that fun stuff, sharing assets
personally I believe its personal choice if people want to get married,

I agree with all of you!!!
this is a free country and we all have the freedom of religion, assembly, press, petition, and speech and the freedom to be who you want to be whether it is homosexual, or heterosexual... People who are homosexual are not hurting anyone if they want to be homosexual because it is their own choice and preference. If they want to be gay or lesbian, then let them be because they are not doing anything to hurt people. They are just showing what they feel or want to express in this country.
