Yeah well for English this year we need to write a story and well I have an outline, im looking for any ideas and sugestions, IE constructive criticizing, spelling i bad but hey, who cares right heh heh.
The theme needed to be truth and justice however I decided to twist it a little, good idea or no, u tell me
Story Out line
For My crime fiction story I will attempt to have the entire narrative take place within a police departments interrogation room. As the detective interviews the Suspect, flashbacks will be revealed from the suspects perspective. There will be three flashbacks each revealing a different aspect to the murder and thus proving the criminal to be guilty. However as a final twist after the suspect is taken away it will be revealed that it was the detective who was the murder, as he set up the suspect to take the fall. Hiding a concealed weapon the detectives true motive during the interview process was to determine wither or not the suspect had enough information to accuse the detective of the crime. In the end the true murder gets away show casing the flaws in the western idea of justice when there is no truth to be found.
The story will both begin and end with a newspaper article as it is a murder of a high level politicians wife. The opening article will be primarily used to detail the horrific graphics of the murder in order to stir up the public. It will be implied that there is a public outcry for a murder to be apprehended as soon as possible. The detective is also first on the scene. This urgency will then be shown in the police head quarters as the detective makes his way to the interrogation room.
The interview itself will begin calm however after the revival of each flashback, the Detective will grow more and more hostile as if he is slowly identifying the criminal. The suspect who has no memory of the night of the murder also slowly becomes more and more panicked believing he himself to be the murder based on the detectives confidence. By the end of the interview the suspect believes himself to be guilty and is willing to be arrested.
Flashback one: In a bar the suspect receives a drink from a sexy stranger, the soon to be victim. After being recently laid off and depressed, he accepts the drink as an advance by her part and is rejected. He acts violently upon rejection and is kicked out of the bar blaming the soon to be victim. In the end however it is reveled that the detective was in the bar as well and was the one who bought the man a drink after seeing him already struggle with the drinks he had
Flashback two: A minor flashback further establishing motive upon returning to his flat, the suspect realizes that his house is being bought by the government in order for construction of a new highway (on tv). The victim's husband passed the movement and he recognizes the girl at the bar as the politician's wife. Angrily he goes outside to check his mail only to find campaign adds (with the victims address) and a job interview. The adds cause him to scream profanities aloud alerting the neighbors who would later be willing to testify against him. Later it is revealed that the detective followed him to his house and planted the add as well as the job interview however the address is the same as those in the campaign adds.
Flashback three: Nervous before his job interview the suspect gets high in order to calm his nerves however, once he reaches the address all he finds is an empty hallway, and the dead body of the victim behind the address door. The details are fuzzy however due to the drugs he had taken and all he can really remember is the empty hall and dead body. Later records of the building would show that only one elevator was taken to the victims thus proving suspects guilt. The suspect is innocent however as the detective had planned this all along, taking the stairs the detective had set up the suspects arrival and was their to apprehend him, his excuse was that he was visiting a friend on the floor above and has a fear of elevators so he took the stairs. This fear is false however as the detective exits an elevator at the start of the story (in the police station).
The newspaper article at the end details the public hanging of which the suspect has gone through after admitting the murder. The public is satisfied that justice now that there is someone to blame for the crime and the suspect receives life in jail. The detective is portrayed as a hero and in a quote at the end he comments upon how the cold arm of justice is never wrong.
