Well, for me it stinks to lose my first challenge back, but I guess it's not really pleasant for us any way you look at it.
Are you expecting a Merge soon?
There's gonna be only 10 people left after this elimination, so if not now I'd expect one pretty soon.

It feels very discouraging, especially since Nanumea keeps losing.
Yes. Final 10 seems about the right time for a merge.
